A few days before our family trip, we received unexpected news: Mother Nature had her own agenda, and a looming hurricane threatened to alter our plans. But our Airbnb, a luxurious haven of tranquility, turned a potentially daunting situation into an unforgettable adventure. From stunning aesthetics to hurricane-ready features, here's the story of our extraordinary stay.
The flight
The flight was nothing short of amazing. As the plane soared through the skies, I gazed out of the window, and there it was: a sea of fluffy white clouds stretched out beneath my feet. It was a moment of pure serenity, a feeling of being suspended between Earth and sky, and it took my breath away. This serves as a reminder that, despite my reluctance to board a plane, it's precisely the reason I pursue Kimzcation. There's truly no sensation quite like gazing out at the captivating scenery before me. I took a deep breath and really thought to myself, "how amazing is this, doesn't it look surreal?" I really have a thing for clouds.
The Grand Entrance:
The moment we arrived, we knew this Airbnb was something special. We were greeted by a grand and striking entrance—a large, beautifully adorned blue door that radiated warmth and hospitality, extending a gracious welcome to our home away from home. My mother love the color blue so the second her eyes and my eyes met, I knew I chose the right AirBnb.
Facing the Storm:
Hurricane Idalia was relentless, but our host was our beacon of reassurance. With constant text updates, we felt safe and supported. Despite the chaos outside, watching the rain, wind, and water was strangely mesmerizing. It was like having a front-row seat to a powerful natural performance. Battening Down the Hatches:
With the touch of a button, we could seal ourselves off from the storm, giving us an unprecedented sense of security. I love this built-in hurricane shutters. All houses with big glasses should have a built-in hurricane shutters and it must be automatic of course.
Entertainment Inside: The interior of the house offered no shortage of entertainment. We spent hours playing pool, bonding over games, and enjoying each other's company. The kitchen was a culinary dream. It had every utensil and gadget we could think of, inspiring us to cook up a storm of our own. We relished our meals at different tables, savoring the varied atmospheres of the house.
Emerging into Sunshine:
When the sun finally graced us with its presence, the house transformed. We wasted no time diving into the pool, soaking up the rays, and relishing the sense of normalcy.
An Asian Fusion Adventure: While we had everything we needed right at our fingertips, we couldn't resist a culinary adventure. On our last day, we ventured out to a nearby Asian fusion restaurant (J&P Asian Fusion), a delightful contrast to our in-house feasts.
